On September 27^th, 2017 the University of Economics – Varna and the Portuguese culture and language center “Camões Sofia”, affiliated to the Portuguese embassy, in Bulgaria signed a cooperation agreement.

During an official meeting UE-Varna’s rector Prof. Plamen Iliev, PhD, and the ambassador of Portugal in Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Luis Ferraz signed an agreement with the aim to promote Portuguese language and culture among UE-Varna’s students.

Due to the joint efforts of both sides, starting from the academic 2018/2019 undergraduate students at UE-Varna will be able to study Portuguese language.

“Camões Sofia” is initiator of the first “Days of Portuguese language and culture” in Varna, which are to be held from 27^th till 30^th of September 2017. The events are part of the Embassy of Portugal and Portuguese culture and language center’s politics towards dissemination of Portuguese culture and language in Bulgaria.
